Local Marketing Vault: Quick Overview

The Local Marketing Vault teaches anyone how to create and run their own digital marketing agency with paid ads from the ground up. You could consider LMV as part coaching and part coursework.

LMV contains dozens of trainings covering everything from how to get your first client, to how to outsource and automate your business once you get the ball rolling.

But the real true value in LMV comes from within their community. You can network with 2000+ other members who are all on the same path as you. Once you hit 10k+ a month you get access to a private area of the group where you can network with agency owners.

LMV is extremely comprehensive and any questions that aren’t clear in the training is quickly answered by the private Facebook group.

Local Marketing Vault does have some drawbacks. For one support can be slow to respond at times and the price to gain access to the Local Marketing Vault is considerably higher than similar less detailed courses.

With that being said, let’s dive into the knitty-gritty of this Local Marketing Vault review.

What To Expect In The Local Marketing Vault On Day 1

The vault is crammed with tons of valuable content. Just logging into the vault can seem overwhelming at first, but if you stick to the process you’ll be fine.

You’ll also be invited to join the private Facebook group, which by itself brings an insane amount of value and experience. I’ll touch more on how the group in more detail later.

There’s something called the LMV Process Overview Checklist, if you’re ever confused as to where to need to be or what you need to be doing, you need to check that. Starting your own digital marketing agency is a ton of work, let’s be clear.

It can be easy to get overwhelmed at times but Local Marketing Vault does a really good job at keeping students on track and motivated throughout the training. The Local Marketing Vault is constructed in a way that you can still build an agency even if you don’t understand “the tech stuff.” (More on this later)

After you go through some basics of how the Local Marketing Vault is laid out, you’ll look towards your overview checklist to see what needs to get done. Access to LMV is for life, so if you get stuck or need to relearn something you can always re-watch it, or ask the community.

Getting Your First Client

Local Market Vault is very big on getting you money and your pocket and your first client as quick as possible. So much so, that even before you complete all of the training they advise you start getting clients.

I personally have mixed feelings about this, but the idea is that since you already have such a large community and tons of resources at your disposal, you’ll be able to setup their campaign or have someone in the group assist you if you have any gaps in your knowledge.

LMV teaches many different client getting methods most of which are free to implement. Almost all of their landing pages and trainings require the use of Clickfunnels, which does have a monthly cost associated with it.

Local Marketing Vault teaches a lot of outbound marketing tactics. Rather than focus on creating content, you’re out sending cold emails, attending networking events, and cold calling.

There are however more advanced methods that you can implement that are taught such as creating your own client getting funnel, and setting up a some other automatons to find clients.

In short, getting clients won’t be easy. Get ready to hear “no” a lot. So much so in fact, there’s even the “Getting 5 No’s A Day” section under the client getting training.

It really comes back to your state of mind, which is actually covered earlier in your introduction to the vault under the “LMV Mindset” section.

With thousands of other people competing in the same space as you, get ready to hear a lot of nos. It’s going to take a ton of work, but it can be worth it. You really have to love the process and have the right attitude.

Local Marketing Vault Software Training

There is a massive amount to learn in the vault. If you’re not tech savvy or have absolutely no marketing experience, this can seem daunting and will take time to learn. You do have many resources at your disposal in the vault but be aware.

The primary software you’re going to need to learn how to use is Clickfunnels. Nearly all of LMV’s landing pages and trainings utilize Clickfunnels to create your client’s campaign.

Clickfunnel, and the other software can conveniently be purchased via affiliate links in LMV. Most, if not all additional software and up sells you can sell to your clients are marketed to you in the vault via affiliate links.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, however the fact that it’s not disclosed in a place you can see, doesn’t feel very honest.

On top of Clickfunnels, you’ll need to learn how to use at least two other pieces of software to properly generate leads for your client. There are tons of optional software you can purchase in the Vault such as lead follow up software, reputation management, and call forwarding.

You really only need three pieces of software to setup a lead generation system, but expect to be pitched different software solutions from time to time.

LMV Marketing Training

The vault contains a ton of different training primarily focused on marketing stratifies utilizing paid ads, and sales techniques.

The three main categories would be Facebook Ads, Google PPC, and funnel training. Between all of these three categories I would say the training is solid. It’s nothing fancy, just James or Jason with a webcam but that’s really all you need.

Since they have such a massive ‘vault’ worth of videos some of them are a bit dated. That’s not to say the strategy doesn’t still work, but if you’re not tech savvy you might struggle to follow along.

I’ve never taken a training and been left confused or stuck, although I do consider very comfortable with technology and online software.

Training covers all of the basics as well as some more advanced techniques you can implement out of the box, like how to quickly find winning ads and some additional marketing strategy you can apply across all channels.

Sales Training

Another large part of Local Marketing Vault is your ability to sell your services. For most people this is the most difficult part of the process. Not because it isn’t taught well, but because this is far from most people’s comfort zone.

James and Jason even went as far as hiring Jordan Belfort AKA The Wolf Of Wallstreet to speak with the group and offer sales training. Still, sales still seems to be the largest hurdle people struggle with inside the vault because it’s so tied to your personality and confidence.

Outside of what you think of Jordan Belfort, the Local Marketing Vault has over a dozen modules teaching you everything from qualifying a client to up selling them services down the line.

The sales training is in depth and one of the more detailed parts of the course, which is really nice to see. There’s even a recorded example of closing a trial client you can listen in on. As someone who personally hates doing sales, this helped a lot.

Setting Up Client Campaigns

So you have the tools, the training, and the strategy, now you just need to know who to pursue as a client.

Local Marketing Vault has 32+ ‘done for you’ funnels and trainings based on different industries you can use to quickly setup your clients and get your campaigns started fast.

These are essentially templates you can use to apply to your campaign without having to start from scratch each time.

The templates in my opinion are pretty crude visually, but they work. I’ve heard that ugly sells more than pretty and that might actually be true.

These 32 different businesses you can market for are broken down into tiers ranging from 1 to 3. Each tier represents a higher retainer you could charge to market for that client.

Of course prices are generally up to you, you wouldn’t charge a lawyer the same fee you would a tow truck driver.

The trainings cover every single step you need to take to get your client generating leads for their businesses. While most of this technical setup is the same, the offer and copy will vary depending on your industry. This is especially helpful for new marketers.

A common mistake I see people make is copy the funnel verbatim. Yes the funnel is ‘done for you’ but you’re supposed to use that as a base to edit from.

What happens is hundreds of ‘marketers’ flood an industry they think they can make money in, say dental for instance, and all the marketing looks the same. I’m sure you’ve seen it at some point in time online.

LMV Smart Marketers Facebook Group

The Facebook group is one of the most overlooked and possibly underutilized parts of the vault. If you get stuck, you can ask your questions and people will usually chime in pretty quickly.

The group as a handful of moderators who also go live regularly with updates and to answer questions anyone may have. There’s also a weekly Facebook Live where James or Jason will go live to answer questions.

You can also expect to be pitched a new training/software from an affiliate in these lives as well.

Local Market Vault does a really good job at leveraging it’s community. James and Jason have create something called the LMV Preferred Partner Program, where members who have been vetted can be advertised to other people in the group.

This is particularly useful if you’re weak in say, sales but strong in the marketing/tech aspect of the business. You can partner with someone in the group and get the ball rolling faster. Most partners split their revenue.

You don’t have to be an approved partner to team up with someone in the group, but its reassuring knowing your partner actually has experience in the area they claim.

Additional Services

There are a number of other services the Local Marketing Vault offers that can help it’s members out. One being the Tech Concierge service.

Tech Concierge

Say you get stuck on something small, like setting up a Facebook pixel, or having an issue with a landing page, you can contact Tech Concierge and they will do it for you.

The service isn’t free. You buy credits, one credit is 20 minutes of support time. It averages out to about $25 an hour, and the smallest amount you can purchase at this time is $25 dollars worth of support.

Fundwise

On the homepage of the Local Marketing Vault is an affiliate link to Fundwise, where you can get business loans. The way it’s also portrayed seems unprofessional as well. I feel like this is not needed and not a good look for the site. Why wouldn’t you just focus on getting more clients rather than taking out a loan for more money?

Done For You Funnel

I know this service exists somewhere in the Local Marketing Vault but couldn’t find anymore information about it. Basically a small team of people who help manage the private Facebook group can setup your entire marketing campaign for you.

This service obviously wasn’t free, and was really for people who just didn’t want to do it themselves or couldn’t figure out the training. I don’t think service was very popular, but it did/does exist.

LMV 10K Club

The Local Marketing Vault also has a specific section of the group called the 10K Club, where members making 10K+ a month are invited to share share their journey and fill out their information to receive a plaque. I believe there are about 50 or so people who have achieved 10K+ at this time.

This of course gives James and Jason the opportunity to interview you and use your interview as social proof for future sales if you choose to participate. You also get invited to speak at special events such as LMV Live and on Facebook Lives.

Is Local Marketing Vault A Scam?

No, Local Marketing Vault is not a scam. But I wouldn’t blame you if you thought it felt like one.

I know it can be scary to invest such a large amount into learning something new. Especially from clicking on a Facebook or YouTube ad.

I was super apprehensive when I was first looking into this course, and actually postponed my phone call to do additional research.

No one is going to take your money and run, and there is a ton of content and trainings that are structured in a way to guide you towards success.

Here’s the thing, this will probably be hard. There are a ton of learning curves and you’re going to have to learn to deal with rejection.

How many people do you think have called that dentist, or cold emailed that realtor? Tons.

You’ll need persistence, creativity, and above all a real will to make your business work.

Bottom line, these techniques work when you work.

Local Marketing Vault Cost

Let’s talk price. Local Marketing Vault is not cheap. The price fluctuates but you can expect to pay anywhere from 3-6k for access. This can be broken down into payment plans, as most people cannot afford this out of pocket.

If you do choose to pay in installments know that some of the VIP sections will not be made available to you until you’ve paid in full. Nothing in the VIP section is essential to the base training, and only serves as a bonus for those who have paid in full.

Compared to other trainings LMV is expensive, but does come with a massive community behind it and a ton of pre-made funnels along with niche specific research. Local Marketing Vault is what I personally used to get my foot in the door of online marketing.

It helped me establish a baseline knowledge of marketing, and lead generation. I got a feel for what I was good at, what I liked to do, and what I didn’t like to do. I feel without Local Marketing Vault I may have not gotten so involved with digital marketing to begin with.

I was able to pay my tuition in a few installments and made my money back with the first 4 months.

Local Marketing Vault Conclusion

With all things considered I think Local Marketing Vault is a solid investment if you’re sure you want to get into the lead generation business.

I feel like most people don’t understand how much work goes into creating a source of income from the ground up. They see that the funnels are already created and think that with a few clicks they’ll be making a few thousand dollar a month.

It’s going to take time and dedication. You should also we aware that there are plenty of other people who are trying to provide leads for small businesses as well. This will require you to get creative, and get used to hearing the word ‘no’ a lot.

If I haven’t scared you away by now, than know that lead generation can be extremely rewarding. When done properly, a handful of clients can supplement or completely replace your income, giving you the time and freedom you want.

If you’re new to marketing, this can be a great introduction into the world of lead generation, and really be a solid foundation from which you can grow upon.

FAQ

Do I need to have any marketing background or technical knowledge to succeed in Local Marketing Vault.

No, the great thing is that you can partner with any of the 2000+ members who are strong in their technical or marketing ability.

If you still can’t grasp the trainings you even have the option to have someone setup the entire funnel for you in exchange for a fee.

I would argue that the most in demand skill in the group isn’t marketing knowledge, it’s sales experience. If you can sell, you’re in a position of power within the group.

Will this business model ever stop working?

No. Businesses will ALWAYS need and want more customers. What will change over time are the techniques and platforms that are used. Luckily, Local Marketing Vault has a community of people that share the latest information and new trainings are added when the need arises.

I’ve never sold anything before, can I still do this?

Yes! If you haven’t sold anything before there’s an entire section dedicated to teaching the core principals of selling your services.

If you’re not comfortable with sales or just don’t want to do it, you can partner with an approved sales person in the vault, or use another method of generating clients.

Is this the best business model?

There really is no ‘best’ model, it all comes down to how you want to work. Lead generation requires a large amount of work up front and then maybe a quarter of that work maintaining your campaigns. The business model can definitely be passive once you start leveraging automation and outsources but it will take time and work to get there.
